Bingham Town U12 Reds Earn Promotion to YEL Division 2

Bingham Town U12 Reds have secured promotion from YEL Division 3 to Division 2 after a season built on hard work, belief, and continued progression within the age group. As the de facto first team of the three Bingham Town U12 squads, the Reds have developed strongly, with several players stepping up from the Blues and Whites over recent years.

A major highlight of the campaign came in the 6–1 away win at Carlton Town, a dominant performance that included a superb hat-trick from Finley Walker, who has impressed since moving into the Reds from the Whites. The team has also been strengthened by new goalkeeper Harry Shepard, whose strong, consistent displays have brought real stability to the side.

The decisive promotion match saw the Reds travel to Mansfield to face a tough G3A team in cold, rainy conditions. Club captains Max Rainbow and Harlow Maryan led the side superbly, setting the tone in a physical and tense contest. Town took the lead on 25 minutes when Harry Vaughan came off the bench to calmly place a finish in off the post, before G3A equalised early in the second half with a top-corner strike. A determined final spell from the Reds ensured the game ended 1–1 — enough to secure their long-awaited promotion.

Manager Eddie Vaughan praised the squad’s commitment:

“The commitment these boys have shown all season has been outstanding. They’ve faced strong opposition week after week and never backed down. Their teamwork, attitude, and belief have been first-class. Promotion to Division 2 puts us back where we belong, and we’re looking forward to the tougher matches ahead.”

With promotion achieved, Bingham Town U12 Reds now look ahead to the challenges of Division 2 with confidence and excitement.
