Essential pitch maintenance work

We recently put out a call for volunteers to help with spreading sand in and over all the cracks and holes that have appeared on the football pitches due to the prolonged hot, dry weather.

This work was essential so that we can try to ensure pitches are safe to play on in August and early September.

More than 30 players, parents and coaches turned up with wheel barrows, spades,  shovels, buckets, and brushes to help spread some 10+ tonnes of sand!

Thanks to all those who came down to help, your help was massively appreciated in the warm weather.

A special mention to Luke Adcock (www.labuildingjoinery.co.uk) who provided his tipper truck, got us a free digger for the day and also encouraged most of his U14s to come down and help out!
