Match Report: Bingham Town U16 Girls vs County Day School (Canada)
Friendly Fixture – Butt Field, Bingham

Bingham Town U16 Girls welcomed visitors from across the Atlantic on Tuesday evening, hosting Toronto-based County Day School (CDS) in an exciting international friendly at Butt Field.
The match proved to be a close and competitive affair, with Bingham making a strong start. Megan Cant opened the scoring early on, finishing smartly to give the home side the lead. CDS fought back well, however, and found an equaliser before half-time to make it 1–1 at the break.
The second half continued in the same end-to-end fashion. Chloe Penaluna restored Bingham’s advantage with a well-taken goal, but the Canadians responded swiftly once again to level things up at 2–2. Both sides created late chances to find a winner, but neither could break the deadlock as the game ended all square — or a “tie,” as our visitors would say!
For a bit of post-match fun, the teams rounded off the evening with a penalty shootout, where Bingham came out on top 3–1 thanks to successful spot kicks from Chloe Penaluna, Megan Cant, and Kara Medd. Goalkeeper Isis Lok Sum Wan was the hero between the posts, making crucial saves to seal the shootout win.
The fixture was superbly officiated by an all-female referee team, adding to the spirit of the occasion. A fantastic evening of football played in great sportsmanship — a memorable international encounter for everyone involved.
